HUD Design

We had a good HUD design meeting today. We’ve decided to use this as our inspiration:

As you can see it conveys all information the player could possibly need without any overlap. Really impressive!

    Sweet, everything the player needs to know, and you can still see the targeting reticule! Genius!
    Though… as great as it is, it could be even better. There’s a bit of unused screen real estate around the edges, see. I’m sure you wonderful people can put your brains to task to dicover even more info to display that no one would normally ever think the player could need to know. And once your brains have labored for days and are sloshing about in a growing puddle of brain sweat, the Answer will emerge from the delicious Broth of Knowledge.

    That’s the worst, most overcrowded design I’ve ever seen. If I had to play a game like that I’d gauge my eyes out.
